Without the financial assistance of CHSU Scholarships, a significant number of our students would not have the opportunity to pursue their career in healthcare.
Our CHSU students are a great reflection of the Central Valley’s diversity and many already call the Central Valley their home. Some are the first in their families to obtain a college degree. Many speak multiple languages that will help bring healthcare to underserved communities. And they need your help.
This Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll consider investing in CHSU students, who are your future doctors and pharmacists. Your donation supports our students’ success through scholarships and helps alleviate their financial burden.
Donating to Student Scholarships
In partnership with two Valley philanthropic organizations, CHSU medical and pharmacy students are awarded scholarships each year.
Raymond Alcaraz, PharmD
“Receiving this scholarship was a huge thing for me. I could never repay the support our donors have given me, so it motivates me to get more involved in my community and CHSU to show my appreciation for this scholarship. One of the biggest problems we face here in the Central Valley is the language barrier. You’ll see a lot of parents that only speak Spanish relying on their child to translate medical terminology from the pharmacist. I want to do something to change that.”
Karen Cruz Pelham, PharmD
“When I was awarded this scholarship, I felt like somebody believed in me and saw my potential. I may not know our donors, but I do know that because of them, because of their support, I am here and I hope to make a difference in the lives of my community as a pharmacist. I’m very thankful that I have this scholarship.”
CHSU wishes to recognize an exceptional or significant contribution to CHSU student scholarships by an individual, foundation or company by offering naming opportunities at our College of Osteopathic Medicine building. This is an exclusive opportunity to leave your legacy on the Valley’s osteopathic medical school in recognition for your philanthropic contribution and investment in our medical students.
For more information about areas offered for naming opportunities, contact Chandler Jameson, Fund Development Manager at email@example.com or 559-546-6041.
